We start the saxophone solos with Hazel O'Connors 'Will You' which is another eighties classic, closely followed by Dire Straits and 'Your Latest Trick'
Both of these saxophone songs were big in their time.
Dire Straits pretty much ruled the roost for a while in '85 when they released the album 'Brother In Arms'
'Will You' was pretty much towards the end of Hazel O'Connors ventures into the charts. As saxophone solos go Wesley Mcgooghan nails it completely.
As saxophone solos go it took me a while to like this one. But once you sit down and listen to the effort going into some of the notes and you feel his pain you begin to appreciate it, and applaude the fact that he managed to do it without giving himself an aneurysm!
As you can tell by the huge roar from the crowd a well loved tune and as saxophone solos go, very well known. Possibly one of the most recognized starts to a record ever.
Given that Dire Straits were huge at the time it was always going to be a hit. Big respect goes to Chris White for sporting a top class mullet!
The two are saxophone solos classics. If young you are probably wondering who on earth are either of them but never mind. As saxophone songs go they are well worth a listen
