YAS275
The YAS275 Yamaha alto saxophone is the base model in the Yamaha alto sax range. Classed as a student sax it is offered as a quality introductory saxophone at a reasonable price. Although this is the base model it does not mean it lacks playability or punch. Yamaha generally build to a high level of quality so you can pretty much expect to get a sax that is going to see you through many years of play with a good tone and, with regular servicing, should be pretty much trouble free. The Yamaha yas 275 plays in Eb and comes in a standard gold lacquered finish with a high F# key, polyester key inlays and adjustable right thumb rest. If you buy from a Yamaha dealer the standard package comes with a Yamaha 4c mouthpiece. 4c being an easy mouthpiece to play for beginners.
YAS 275 Prices
Price as NewAs with all things on the web prices vary. Shopping around is essential for all you bargin hunters out there. The cheapest new model I've seen is priced at £545:00 plus p&p. The most expensive was £695:00 plus p&p. As you can see there is quite a variation in price so it's well worth the effort to look around for an absurd bargain as £545:00 is a very good price. Price Used More often than not you are going to find yourself trawling through an auction site like ebay if you are in the market for a second hand sax. Generally a YAS 275 will go for around £400-£450 depending on condition. I did see one with a starting price of £500 which kind of asks the question why, when you also consider p&p would you waste your money when an extra £100 would get you one new. Which ever route you go down, new or used, be sure you are happy with the seller and of course happy that you are buying a quality condition YAS275.
