YAS475

YAS475 Yamaha alto saxophone. This yamaha alto sax is classed as an intermediate level saxophone and is one step up from the Yas275. The YAS 475 plays in Eb and comes with standard gold lacquered finish. It is supplied with high F# key, polyester key inlays and the usual adjustable right thumb rest. If you buy from a Yamaha dealer it will come with a Yamaha 4c mouthpiece but there's no doubt if you are thinking of purchasing one of these then you will probably already have your own favourite mouthpiece to use.

This sax is designed as a step up model it is made along the same lines of the pro models and gives extremely accurate tone and quick response of the keys to aid accurate playing.

Again shopping around yields benefits. Online prices I've seen start at £987:00 and go up as high as £1299:00 or possibly higher. I figured a £300 price comparison was enough to show you the size of the price variations and the need to do your research if you are to grab a good buy.

Price Used

Prices on the auction sites usually start around £600 although I have seen them offered higher. You will have to use some judgement as to whether you think you are geting a good buy. Why pay £850 plus for a second hand model when you can get new for a £1000. Remember, a YAS475 is a serious purchase and you want the best your money can buy. Yes, Yamahas do hold their value well but if that's the case you may be better off spending the extra £150 and then if it's not what you want you can claw back most of the price by offering it for sale again with one careful owner.
