Yas82Z Custom Sax

Yas82z. The yamaha yas 82z custom saxophone takes you well into the realms of the professional Yamaha saxophones. This is a step up from the Yas62 in terms of build quality, playability responsiveness and sound.

Yamaha themselves tout this sax as a serious attempt to recreate the sound of saxes gone by. So if you are interested in visiting the sounds of times gone by you may want to think about this one.

The Yas 82Z plays in Eb the same as the rest of Yamahas alto range. It comes with mother of pearl key inlays, the usual adjustable thumb rest and a hand engraved bell.

With the Yamaha Yas 82z Range you also have a choice of finishes. These finishes are supposed to give subtle variations to the overall sound of the sax.

You can get the standard gold lacquered finish (Yas82z), the unlacquered (Yas82zul), the silver (Yas82zs) and finally the black finish (Yas82zb).

This is a serious money purchase so if you are interested please take the time to try all options before you buy. At this level and price you may want to consider all options before splashing out the cash.

Yas82Z Prices

Ok. This is a pro sax with a slick action and as such it's reflected in the price. Starting at around £2300 and going up to around £2800 you can see that this is not a purchse to be taken lightly. I had seen one site offering the Yas 82z at £1600 in their ads but a trip to the site revealed a price of £2700. Very misleading I must say.

Used Price

A rare second hand purchase. Mainly because if you buy one you are unlikely to sell because you bought it for the sound and the pro level playing. That said current prices seem to start at about £1600. Bear in mind that with bidding it will probably surpass £2000.
